DIY No Sew Drop Cloth Curtains

Happy new week :-). It’s  Monday and I’m still recovering from a long weekend including hosting a bloggers/instagram holiday brunch meetup with some local bloggers yesterday. It was so much fun and inspiring. I’ll be sharing more of that later this week here on the blog. Well guess what I woke up to this morning … a dusting of snow. Winter is here. I wonder if we will have a white Christmas?

So, If you follow me on instagram, almost two weeks ago, you would have seen me talking about picking up some drop cloths at my local Home Depot. What did I do with them you ask? Well I made the most inexpensive curtains you could find that fits lovely into a farmhouse, country, shabby chic or modern vintage styled home. I looked around a lot and I mean a lot for 96″ long linen curtains ( love the rustic look and feel of linen). Sure manufacturers make them but SOOOO many stores want you to order them vs. having them in stock (the most popular is 84″ long). Can I just say how annoying that is. After my last attempt at hitting a store and coming out empty handed, a light bulb went off. I remembered how I used the drop cloths on the outdoor pergola we built, in my last house, to make the space feel distinct and special place on the deck. Check out the dropcloth curtains here on this blog post. So I headed to Home Depot hung, the drop cloth curtains,  stepped backed and smiled. I knew I had to share this with you all because I know how frustrating it can be to find linen curtains at a good price, that aren’t to thin and look chic. Problem solved.

You will need:

Drop cloths from your local home improvement store (got mine from Home Depot) and curtain ring clips that match your curtain rod. (got mine from Target, like at the end of the post. They come in 4 finishes)

To hang these no sew curtains follow these 2 easy steps:

1. Remove the drop cloths from the packaging and wash them in the washer to freshen up the smell. Also when you put them in the dryer use dryer sheets to soften the feel of the fabric.
2. Once ready to hang, space out the curtain rod clips equal distance apart on each panel. Then hang.

Specifically these are the ones I purchase and used. Each package contains one drop cloth. They cost me $11 each and I used 2 packs.

I used one pack of curtain rings for each panel. So you will need two packs per window. One for each panel.

Like how easy is that loves. Now you can step back and bask in the glory of hanging chic curtains, bought inexpenisivley, that know one will know are drop cloths unless you tell them.
