Happy Wellness Wednesday loves. Today I’m sharing an easy recipe for Avocado Hummus. Honestly, I wasn’t trying to come up with a recipe when I first threw these two things together when making a healthy snack one day in the kitchen. However, after tasting chickpeas and avocado together, I really liked it. I thought those two ingredients would make a really fun base for an avocado hummus, so here we are. I really never made traditional hummus before and all I knew was that it included chickpeas. So this obviously isn’t a recipe for traditional hummus, but when refining the recipe for this avocado version, I did end up adding tahini paste to it which is found in a traditional hummus recipe. If eating healthier is a part of your wellness journey as is it on mine, then you should totally try this.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Whole ripe avocado
1/2 cup chickpeas
1/2 small shallot
1 tbsp tahini paste
1 clove minced garlic
1 tsp of fresh lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS: In a food processor, put in all the ingredients and blend for a few pulses until a creamy consistency. Enjoy
