What are you crushing on these days loves? The other day I crushed REALLY hard at the James Taylor concert. OMG I had the biggest crush on him growing up. I thought he was so handsome and his voice was just so soothing. You know how you act as a teen when you see your crush in a magazine or at a concert?…yeah that was me…except at 41…it just didn’t feel like I should be so giddy. I had to laugh at myself reliving the night in my head the next day. Well I won’t bore you with the details…visit my Instagram post for that (look for the blurry, purply, hazy, hell no she didn’t post that bad photo) post.
Yup that’s the one.
Anyhow…today I’m starting a Currently Crushing On series on the blog and my oh my am I crushing on all things galvanized. Galvanized home goods add just the right amount of farmhouse touches to any decor. No matter how you incorporate galvanized items into your interior decorating, try these tips to help create a rustic chic look in your home.
TIP 1: I’m BIG into mixing textures, so soften the area in which you use galvanized items with fabric textures such as linen, cotton, burlap and faux fur.
TIP 2: Metals can make a space feel industrial, so when painting, lighten the feel of the space by using soft paint colors. Some of my favorites, from my favorite paint company Benjamin Moore, are Gray Owl, White Dove and Quiet Moments. I personally use all of these in my home.
TIP 3: Bring the outdoors in. Lighten the mood with greenery. Whether it be preserved boxwood, fresh flowers or lush green plants, nothing says welcome like these touches
Hope you have a wonderful day!
