Happy hump day loves. Wednesdays I am off of work so I’m glad I get to share today with you. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I was painting our gray dining room Simply White by Benjamin Moore. I decided to do this after looking through some photos of the house that we took after we first moved in, and looking back, I decided I really like how bright and beautiful the room looked in white verses gray. Even though I loved the gray color, in which I shared just recently in this previous post on my paint colors, the white just really helps the small dining room seem much more roomy. I’m so happy I decided to go with this color. Since I was making some improvements to the room, I made some updates in several ways which I will discuss/source in the post. While I’m still waiting for a custom art piece to arrive for the longest wall in the dining room, I did end up hanging the beautiful 80 year old shutters that I wanted to put up for over a month now. They really pop against the white and I love them even more than when I first picked them up on a junkin trip. I hope you enjoy this tour and find some fresh inspiration for your home in this new year.
Everything in this photo was here in the dining room before except the shutters. I found them on a recent junkin trip and knew they had to come home with me. I mixed up the vintage items on my etagere shelf and added some more of the jars from my aqua mason jar collection. The bench is from Joss and Main and the pillows are from Restoration Hardware.
How beautiful is the room? So bright and welcoming right? The grays in the room really stand out now. I added burlap curtains I found at Target. The table is from Joss and Main. The chandelier is sold in my online store. The side gray chairs are from Target and the wood chairs are from Restoration Hardware.
Instead of a traditional tie back, I used linen ribbon. I think it adds a pretty touch.
The chairs are from Arhaus.
We had the console table and the picture. Newly added is the lamp from Target. I decluttered this console table. It used to have various wine/cocktail glasses. It just looked cluttered. I love it this way.
On snap chat, I shared 2 choices of boxes I was looking at at Target. I went with these ones below. Again, it was cluttered, so everything is organized and the wine/cocktail glasses are nicely hidden in them. (p.s. if you want to follow me on snap chat look for me @sandradownie)
LOVE my new lamp. Found it at Target. The clean lines are gorgeous and work nicely in the room to keep the feel open and airy.
I love making weekly flowers in my home and I think I’ll be using mostly white this winter. Mix up your candlesticks like I did here. I think it makes for a much prettier presentation.
Well I hope you enjoyed the updates I made. I’m so very happy with it all and my family loves it too!
Wow, Sandy! I aBsolUtely love every detail! The white is aBsolutely perfect and really makes your console table stand out nicely! So pretty! Happy New year!
Thank you so much Keila! I’m so loving it! Happy New Year sweetie!
Love the dining room table – where is it from?
Stephanie, the table I bought it from Joss and Main
Hello! I am trying to track down the light fixture in your dining room. I have fallen in love with it! I found you through the Home Depot French farmhouse post. I went to your online store as you mentioned in your post but I don’t see this exact fixture. Would you mind telling me where you got yours? It is dreamy!
Hi Megan, Sorry I’m just seeing this. I actually sell this light fixture if interested, please email me.
I know this is an older post but would you mind telling me where you got your chandelier? I checked your online store but don’t see the exact one. It would be perfect for our kitchen nook! Thank you!
