Makeover Reveal for Home for the Holidays with Raymour and Flanigan

December is off to a great start for me and I hope it is for you. Today is the day I get to reveal the makeover I did for my sister in partnership with Raymour and Flanigan. If you didn’t get a chance to see the before pictures and the furniture options I chose from, see the post here.  To recap briefly, Raymour and Flanigan generously offered to help a family in need turn a house into a home. I was blessed enough to be able to help my sister, who has overcome domestic violence to finally make a home for her and her little girls to feel comfortable in. As you will see in the post with the before pictures, I shared the 3 sofa options I choose from. Now you will get to see which of the 3 I chose in the makeover. Let’s get to the big reveal shall we.

The Living Room Before

As you can see, I chose the chair and sofa from the Tatiana collection. I just LOVE the versatility of the collection. You can have this collection in a space that feels casual or formal. The clock she already had and stayed where it was at it is the perfect spot.

There was this little space next to the TV that just needed a little TLC. The woven basket I picked up from Target and the foot stool is sold in my shop here.

DESIGN TIP: My sister had an end table already. I kept it in the design and it is on the left side of the sofa. It’s fine to have mismatched end tables, however to keep a cohesive look, use matching lamps as noted here. The lamps were purchased a few months back from Hobby Lobby. The lattice patterned pillow adds a nice texture mix to the seating area.

Most of the time when I’m designing a space, I use an area rug to anchor the room. In her space, I chose the Murphy coffee table and end table for the room and anchored the room with the Pembroke Area Rug

Dining Room Before (The galvanized EAT letters I picked up from Hobby Lobby months before to try to add a little rustic touch to her dining room.

Because there was a wide doorway that separated the rooms, I thought adding some curtains would make the rooms feel like separate spaces. I used ribbon to tie the curtains back instead of traditional curtain tiebacks.

The Linden dining table set I just LOVE and knew it would fit well into the design ideas I had. The abstract tree art was the perfect piece of art to finish the cozy dining space. The chandelier I picked up from Home Depot. The hutch I had in my old house and gifted it to my sister a year ago. I just added the boxwood wreaths, hung by ribbon to the doors as accent touches.

A closer look at the hutch.

She couldn’t be more happy with how her house now feels like a home. She and her daughters are very excited about their first Christmas there.

The furniture selection Raymour and Flanigan is so vast and they carry something for EVERYONE and that works with all budgets and fits into many lifestyle. They are worth a trip the next time you are in the market for something new! Thank you for helping a family in need this holiday season.
