Merry Christmas loves. We recently went up to New Hampshire (our first time there) and we stayed at the lovely Colby Hill Inn. Our trip was captured by Abby and Austin , the talented husband and wife team behind AB Photography
They took so many beautiful photos of our time there and of our family that it was so hard to choose which ones to share with you all. So I decided to share some of our favorites with you here on the blog. We were so honored to have them be the ones to capture our first official family Christmas photo.
We were so happy we chose to spend this time at the Colby Hill Inn. My hubby and I are big foodies and one of the draws to this inn was their Farm To Table restaurant (at dinner it did not disappoint). The lamb dish…. A MUST TRY! We love how quaint the rooms were. We were welcomed with warm fresh baked cookies and the bedrooms were appointed quaintly in true New England fashion…with vintage style water bottles, natural bath and body products and comfy robes. The beds were so comfortable. Really, we didn’t want to get out of them. The Inn keeper Jefferson was very friendly and helpful, and had a charming personality. They were so accommodating. Even though hot chocolate wasn’t out for serving to guest at the coffee station, we were in the mood for some after coming in from the cold feeding the goats. Upon request, Chef Barnes quickly whipped up a gourmet batch of peppermint hot cocoa for us. WOW. I was like WOW. Not only was the hot cocoa amazing, but the fact that they did that for us was really sweet!
When we first arrived we went to our rooms and settled in then went out to feed the goats. Gabby loved feeding them as much as we did. There are 3 of them on the property and all so friendly. You can see a photo of them on my instagram page.
We enjoyed all the snow that was up in New Hampshire. So much of it had melted in Connecticut. New Hampshire was more beautiful than we knew.
The Carriage House is so charming isn’t it. There are two suites in the Carriage House that have both jacuzzis and fireplaces. Quite romantic I must say and ideal for a honeymoon or local getaway.
Inside the main house was a vintage wood burning stove that we enjoyed cozying up to while sipping on their signature seasonal holiday craft cocktails. There cocktail offerings were delicious with Contoocook Nog and Deck the Halls being our favs. Speaking of egg nog, check out my post on home made Jamaican Style Egg Nog. Want to know what was in the Deck the Halls Cocktail? Keep scrolling.
DECK THE HALLS INCLUDES: Local Cranberry Juice, house pine syrup, lemon, lie and bitters. It was delish and very refreshing. Now I just have to figure out how ot make pine syrup 🙂
We ventured down to the historic Hinniker Bridge. It was gorgeous and the construction and wood work is so beautiful.
We really enjoyed our time here at Colby Hill Inn and we look forward to returning to visit New Hampshire in the warmer months and using their lovely pool. I hope you enjoy this virtual Christmas card and that you have a blessed and happy holiday with your loved ones.

We had our wedding at the Colby Hill Inn in 2013 and took pictures at the bridge. So nice to see your blog with so many familiar locations.
We really loved it here! The place was so lovely and the staff wonderful! Can’t wait to go back 🙂
