Happy Tuesday loves, If you haven’t started pulling out your Fall home decor yet, I hope this inspires you to start getting motivated. If you follow me on Instagram, then you have gotten some clues as to what colors I might be going with. Initially I was going to do warm, earthy tones and then…a trip to Michaels changed all that. Once I turned the corner of the Fall home decor aisle, I was in aw at the pretty romantic palette of soft sage green, pink, mauve and a pop of burgundy. Oh how this color palette immediately spoke to my romantic heart. I thought the colors would compliment my farmhouse decor nicely.
Above my mantel used to be a different print and this window was sitting on top of the hutch. Well once the hutch decorated, I decided to move the window above the fireplace and I seriously think it’s just the perfect accent there. The wreath attached was found at Home Goods and they have a ton of them right now. Actually they have so many Fall home decor items in stock, you better cling to your wallet when you enter.
I thought I would find more home decor pieces at the thrift shops that were brass, but I didn’t have any luck. I wanted to incorporate more brass, but I guess my brass candlesticks were screaming “look lady, I’m enough” and I agree. They are really just the perfect little pop of metal the fireplace needed. The brass was a way to add visual appeal and a bit of formality to the mantel. I love the accent that it brings. I left my two mini lemon tree topiaries us there. They were on the dining table before, but now I think they are nice size anchors to the mantel and provide balance. For the garland, I found one at Hobby Lobby I really liked, and then I inserted the various Fall picks I found at Michaels. I made sure to include in the center of the garland the bold pop of wine burgundy color I used as a bold accent color throughout the our home.
I’m so in love with my new urns I got. I am seriously obsessed with the texture and the shape and I love that I can put just about anything in them. You can see what I put in them before on this post. For the Fall I put in them curly willow and cotton as natural tones and textures (ya’ll know I love layering and textures). To bring in more of that wine burgundy pop of color I added little sprigs of puffs that I also found at Michaels. They are literally so soft! You can also find the little farmhouse lantern next to the urn here. I have lantern in 3 sizes in my home and they are so versatile and can be used for any season.
Oh the table center “scene” not calling it a centerpiece was super east to put together and cost me zero dollars because I just shopped my house using various decor pieces to add texture, color and layers.
My sweet little hutch. It has now been painted 3 times. 1st in gray and then a pretty robins egg blue that you can see here on this post. Because it was in my office before, those colors were fine, but having it out in my dining room now, I think it feels better in white in this space. To bring in the romantic details, on top of the hutch, I added some eucalyptus I found at the Target dollar spot to a clear vintage bottle. In my vintage tea kettle I added more texture by adding in lams ear leaves and floral picks I used in other parts of the room, to bring it all together. I didn’t want to over style and stuff the shelves with things just for the sake of doing it. I wanted the styling of the shelves to feel pretty, open and natural. Overall, I’m really happy with how the dining room came out and I’m looking forward to sharing the other rooms in Part 2 so you can see more of my Fall home decor and get some more inspiration.
