Easy Honey Citrus Grilled Drumsticks

grilled chicken recipe

Happy Saturday loves! I can’t believe August is here already. Like where did the summer go? Seems like forever since I put up a blog post. Well, I guess in reality it has been a few months.  I find the summer to be the time of year that I take a break to just  enjoy the beautiful outdoors and time with family. You know living in New England only gives us a few months a year where the outdoors is “the place to be”. With that said, the summer has given me a lot of time to reflect on what I want to do with this blog. What’s its purpose. When I rebranded my blog earlier this year, the direction was to be more in line with a lifestyle blog. Covering everything from fashion, to travel to recipes and topics that are about real life. Sharing real life stories to help women in their daily lives. Honestly, I’ve lost focus of that and want to recenter moving forward. So with that said, get ready for more recipes, stories, and life enhancing content. I hope you enjoy this grilling recipe as Summer inches away month by month. Grilling season won’t last so enjoy this recipe soon.

An easy and simple recipe to enjoy in the summer grilling season
Author:
Ingredients
  • 6 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 tsp Adobo
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ⅓ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 2 tbsp of honey
Instructions
  1. Put all the chicken and ingredients (minus the honey) into a large zip lock bag and marinate for at least one hour. If you can do overnight even better.
  2. Once ready remove chicken from the zip lock bag (RESERVE THE LIQUID for the honey glaze) cook chicken on the grill until cooked through. Do not grill over high heat to ensure it cooks evenly through.
  3. While chicken is cooking, prepare the glaze by combining the leftover marinating liquid with 2 tbsp of honey. Simmer on low heat til it reduces a little. The glaze will not be very thick. Feel free to add more lemon/orange juice and honey to create a glaze that is to your taste.
  4. Pour over chicken after it is removed from the grill and enjoy.
